Rgs Europa partner of the university of Florence

An innovative project sees the Tuscan company collaborate actively with the University of Florence.

This collaboration arises from the idea to fine-tune an innovative method of investigation for identifying new sectors of development for the company.

For this reason, a young researcher of the Department of Mechanics and Industrial Technologies works c/o Rgs Europa, searching through the world patent databases in order to identify the sectors towards which the market will be heading in the medium-long term.

Moving around in the huge amount of data that can be found in patent databases to obtain helpful information from them is possible only due to in-depth knowledge of company production processes, the reference market, customer portfolio and product characteristics and this is the reason behind the researcher c/o our company.

Absolutely new in the sector, research based on patent databases to investigate for the first time a technology like rigid polyurethane, which embraces such a huge variety of product sectors.

The research also aims at an assessment of the maturity of polyurethane in the sectors in which it is used at present.

The project is approaching the conclusive stage. Lengthy data analysis has made it possible to outline potential sectors of interest as well as possible changes to the production cycle, such as the adoption of new machinery needed to process other types of polyurethane.
