Design: A highly complex instrument, the Alfa Nop is a numerical control machine designed for the largest optical laboratories in the world. An automatic tool stock with 7 tools allows the processing and polishing of lenses for thousands of spectacle frames. The expertise of Rgs Europa has made it possible to rationalise the components: five polyurethane bodies cover the rigid electrically-welded steel sheet frame. Engineering the upper body called for particular care, as it is fitted with two linear runner guides on which a transparent methacrylate is fastened operated by two pneumatic pistons. The presence of side hinges allows easy inspection of the cutter working area.

Benefit: Impeccable operation blends with an essential, slim-line design to lighten an apparatus of considerable size. The components are made entirely of Alpapur 40, a self-extinguishing foam material with UL certification in class V0, which is an essential condition for exporting to the United States market.
