Disabled elevators
Sector: Disabled mobility vehicles
Description: Disabled elevators
Project name: RGS08083
Year: 2008
Material used: Baydur 60 + Baydur 110
Type of mold: 6 aluminium molds
Design: In this particular project, polyurethane was used for both the outer shell (covering) of metal parts and as structural element. The main problem in developing the design was calculating the correct section to ensure adequate strength. Extremely resistant coating prevents abrasion from the constant rolling of the wheels. All the components are painted black in bulk, so that even in case of scratching the colour will remain consistent.
Benefit: This innovative products combines pleasant appearance with the use of polyurethane as bearing structure. The elastic properties of polyurethane provide a solution to misalignment problems between the wheelchair plane and the street plane.
